My dad had been struggling at home for the past few years with dementia and having lots of falls, while my mum and dad were resisting him going into a nursing home. My brother and I knew that the next fall could be the last, and we had to organise residential care but also get our parents to agree to it. Care Managers listened to our issues with the system and our parents and helped us organise all the nursing home stuff so we’re ready when my dad needs to make the move. Because we’re all planned and ready to go we’re not having arguments every time we visit our parents.
